Optimal Maintenance Schedule for a Wind Power Turbine with Aging Components

Wind power is one of the most important sources renewable energy available today. A large part cost wind due to maintaining equipment. When a turbine component fails function, it might need be replaced under circumstances that are less than ideal. This known as corrective maintenance. To minimize unnecessary costs, more active maintenance policy based on life expectancy key components preferred. Optimal scheduling preventive activities requires advanced mathematical modeling. In this paper, an optimal algorithm designed using renewal-reward theorem. multi-component setting, our approach involves new idea virtual allows us treat each replacement event renewal even if some not by ones. The proposed optimization applied four-component model turbine, and plans computed for various initial conditions. modeling results clearly show benefit PM planning compared pure CM strategy (about 30% lower cost).
